Following the latest 9-year Universal Basic Education Curriculum of the Nigerian, Educational Research Development Council (NERDC), Christian Religious Studies is now a theme in Religion and National Values (RNV) which is a group name that comprises other subjects as Islamic Studies, Civic Education, Social Studies and Security Education. Therefore this textbook is only a part of a total package designed by the curriculum to facilitate the teaching and learning of religion and to instill national values, norms, and orientation in Nigerian primary schools pupils.
